Special design; PTFE/FEP heat shrink tubing |
Our heat shrink tubes are available in various sizes, materials and colours. Our range consists of materials like; PTFE, FEP, Viton or PVDF. A special version of the fluoroplastic shrink tubing is the dual shrink tubing. A dual heat shrink tubing consists of 2 layers; an outer layer of PTFE and an inner layer of FEP. The PTFE layer melts at a processing temperature of ±340°C. Because the melting point of FEP is much lower (160°-220°C), the FEP becomes semi-liquid during the processing process. As a result, the FEP adheres to the product and after cooling it will result in a tight coating. The product is then fully encapsulated with a fluoropolymer. This type of heat shrink tubing is ideal for use when a product has to be completely sealed, for example from moisture or chemicals. They are often used to make air and moisture resistant cable connections. PTFE/FEP heat shrink tubing is available on standard lengths of 1.22 mtr/pc in natural colour. Other lengths and/or colours on request. Please note that there will be a minimum production which needs to be taken for specials. |
